KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Messilah Equestrian Club Musayla Equestrian Club Show Jumping Championship gets underway on Friday morning, with beginner riders competing over 60cm and 80cm courses.

The competition resumes at 5:30 pm with the beginner 100cm class, followed by rounds at 110cm, 120 cm, and 130cm.

Messilah Equestrian Club Chairman Bader Tareq Al-Melhem highlighted the growing focus among equestrian clubs on nurturing young riders, stressing the importance of preparing a skilled generation capable of representing Kuwait at international competitions.

He said local clubs are home to numerous promising talents, reflecting the sport’s growing appeal in the country.

Established in 2004, Messilah Equestrian Club has spent 22 years training generations of riders, many of whom continue to distinguish themselves in Kuwaiti equestrian sport. Al-Melhem credited the work of experienced Arab and European coaches, saying the club continues to contribute to the sport alongside other local clubs.

He also emphasized that the increasing number of domestic and international competitions hosted by Kuwait helps raise riders’ technical standards and motivates them to remain active in the sport.

Al-Melhem added that Kuwait’s wide network of equestrian clubs and training centers has encouraged greater participation, particularly in show jumping. He noted that Kuwaiti riders have reached international levels and won medals for the country on the global stage.
