KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, received handball goalkeeping coach Ali Al-Khudr in a meeting that highlighted ongoing efforts to support national sports talent and recognize their achievements.
The meeting aimed to honor Al-Khudr’s successful coaching career, which has seen notable accomplishments at both continental and international levels through his work with several clubs and national teams, including the Brazil national handball team, Egypt’s Zamalek, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khaleej, and Kuwait Club.
The discussion also explored ways to further support Kuwaiti coaches abroad and expand opportunities for national expertise to compete and succeed in international sporting arenas, strengthening Kuwait’s presence globally.
Al-Jalahma stressed the importance of continuing this positive trajectory, noting that such figures represent a source of pride for Kuwaiti youth and reflect their ability to achieve success on the international stage with continued institutional support.
For his part, Ali Al-Khudr expressed gratitude to Al-Jalahma for his strong backing of athletes and coaches across different sports.
He described the meeting as constructive and positive, emphasizing that having a minister with a sporting background brings a deeper understanding of the needs of coaches. He also noted the minister’s keen interest in identifying challenges facing Kuwaiti coaches, to remove obstacles and provide a stronger platform for sporting excellence in Kuwait.
