KUWAIT CITY, Jul 8: The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that an emergency fault affecting several overhead transmission lines disrupted operations at the main Al Khiran (AZ) substation, resulting in a power outage.
The ministry said emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to locate and repair the fault, with efforts focused on restoring electricity as quickly as possible.
In a subsequent update, the ministry confirmed that power restoration to the Al-Mutlaa residential area is now underway on a gradual basis. The phased reconnection is being carried out in line with technical procedures to ensure the stability of the national electricity grid and the safety of the operational system.
The ministry said its teams continue to monitor the situation until electricity is fully restored to all affected areas.
