KUWAIT CITY, May 24 (KUNA): Ali Al-Kharafi clinched a historic fifth consecutive Kuwaiti Equestrian League title after being crowned champion of the 2025-2026 season at the Police Sports Federation’s Equestrian and Shooting Club in Sabhan.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Kharafi expressed pride in achieving an unprecedented milestone following intense competition against a strong field of local riders. He noted that the rising level of the league, driven by tougher course standards and the emergence of new talent, continues to enhance the development of Kuwaiti riders and strengthen the national team.
The Kuwait rider credited the domestic league as the foundation behind the national team’s recent continental achievements, highlighting the impressive performances of Kuwaiti riders at the Asian Championships and the Gulf Games in Doha.
Al-Kharafi also thanked the Public Authority for Sport, the Kuwait Olympic Committee, and the Police Sports Federation for their continued support of equestrian sports in Kuwait.
In the final standings, Al-Kharafi finished first with 437 points, followed by Abdullah Al-Awadhi with 340 points and Anaz Al-Anaz with 334 points. Abdulrahman Al-Fuzai claimed fourth place with 236 points, while Fawaz Al-Subaie completed the top five with 223 points.
The season was held through a strategic partnership between the Kuwait Equestrian Federation and the Police Sports Federation, utilizing the federation’s facilities in a move aimed at further developing equestrian sport in the country.
