Al-Karakh, Al-Sadaka off to good start

Club India and Al-Karakh players battle for the ball during their opening match.

In the opening matches of the 21st Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship, which is happening at Al-Kuwait Sports Club, Iraq’s Al-Karakh defeated Club India 50-17, giving the Iraqi side two points in Group 3. In Group A, Kuwaiti keeper Hassan Hassan Sofor was the hero as Al-Sadaka from Lebanon beat the Chinese Dragons 28-21.

The second day activities will witness Al-Kuwait take on Club India in Group C at 6:15 pm, while Kazma lock horns with Sharjah Club at 8:15 pm in Group D.

The two Kuwaiti matches will be preceded by three other matches; the first one is scheduled for 12:45 pm when Al-Sadaka will be looking for their second win of the tournament against Saudi’s Mudhar Club. Qatari team Al-Wakra will face the Omanis Muscat at 2:45 pm, while Bahrain’s Barbar encounter Iraq’s Al-Karakh at 4:15 pm.

The tournament will last until Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
