KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: The Dean of Kuwaiti Journalism and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Seyassah and Arab Times newspapers Ahmed Al-Jarallah received in his office at Dar Al-Seyassah a historical researcher specializing in the history of Kuwait and the Arabian Peninsula Fahd Faris Al-Jarba, in the presence of Fahad Abdulrahman Al- Reesh, reports Al-Seyassah daily. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the importance of documenting the history of the Red Palace and the role of researchers in enriching its cultural and heritage content.

Researcher Al-Jarba highlighted his contributions to supporting the Red Palace Rehabilitation and Restoration Project, which was reopened in November 2024 under the patronage of the Minister of Information, Culture, and Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi. He revealed that he had presented a collection of rare historical documents, sources, and photos related to the Red Palace and the history of Sheikh Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah as part of his volunteer efforts in cooperation with the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) under the Red Palace Historical Content Enrichment Project. The Dean of Kuwaiti Journalism, Ahmed Al-Jarallah, expressed his deep appreciation for Al-Jarba’s research role in preserving and documenting Kuwaiti history. He affirmed that serious individual initiatives help strengthen national identity and highlight the historical symbols that form Kuwait’s authentic heritage.

Al-Jarba praised Al-Seyassah and Arab Times newspapers’ role in supporting the cultural and heritage movement, noting it was one of the first media outlets to highlight the Red Palace after its restoration. It is worth mentioning that the editor-inchief had conducted a field visit to the palace last March to review the development and renovation work, including its facilities and historical content.

At the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the media, researchers, and cultural institutions to document Kuwait’s history and preserve national heritage. They praised the prominent role of NCCAL and the significant support provided by Minister Al-Mutairi for projects to revitalize historical landmarks, especially the Red Palace, which represents an icon of patriotism and national unity.
