Ahmed Al-Jarallah meets Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin
KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Dean of Kuwaiti Journalism and Editor-in-Chief of the Arab Times and Al-Seyassah newspapers Ahmed Al-Jarallah met with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kuwait Yang Xin at his office on Monday, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Director of the Political and Media Section at the Embassy Zhu Chuhan and Third Secretary accompanied the Ambassador during the visit.
The Editor-in-Chief warmly welcomed the Ambassador and his companions, highlighting the development of Kuwaiti-Chinese relations, particularly regarding economic cooperation. He pointed out that diplomatic ties, established in the 1970s, have seen steady and continuous development. Discussing the impact of the Iran-America conflict on the Gulf Arab states and Kuwait, Al-Jarallah stated he hopes “Beijing will play an active role in de-escalation.” He described China as “a great nation with influence among various parties, which enables it to work effectively to stop the war.” The Editor-in-Chief also recalled a 15-day trip to China, praising “the remarkable progress it achieved in recent decades, which allowed it to enter global markets strongly.”

Ambassador Yang Xin confirmed that China is focused on advancing its ties with Gulf nations, specifically the State of Kuwait. He referenced recent development agreements signed under the Silk Road and the Belt and Road Initiative. He expressed gratitude for Al- Jarallah’s favorable view of Chinese efforts and hoped that “relations between China and Kuwait will continue on their current path of development.” “I have been following Gulf-Chinese relations in general, and Kuwaiti- Chinese relations in particular, for some time now. I have been very pleased with this important development,” he said. He added that since 1971, the relationship between Beijing and Kuwait has been improving year after year. Ambassador Yang Xin concluded “I recall that the first Arab support for China at that time came from the Kuwait Fund for Development. This undoubtedly distinguishes our strong friendship and ongoing relations with the State of Kuwait from that time until today.” Managing Editor of the Arab Times Marlon Aquino Malinao also attended the meeting.
