KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12 (KUNA): Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr Tareq Al-Jalahma has reaffirmed that supporting Kuwait’s national football team is a national priority, emphasizing the need to provide the conditions necessary for success and results that match the country’s standing and the expectations of its fans.

Speaking to KUNA after a series of meetings with the Kuwait Football Association (KFA) board, headed by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef, the association’s technical committee and the senior national team’s technical and administrative staff, Al-Jalahma said discussions focused on the team’s recent Gulf Cup 27 campaign and preparations for upcoming competitions.

Al-Jalahma underscored the need for closer coordination between the KFA and the team’s technical and administrative staff, stressing that a clear and unified strategy was essential to improve performance and enhance the team’s readiness for future challenges.

He described the national team as a shared responsibility, noting that success depended on collective efforts and a strong team spirit, particularly with major competitions approaching, foremost among them the AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia next January.

Al-Jalahma said intensified efforts and the provision of the necessary resources were vital to ensuring optimal preparations, fulfilling the expectations of Kuwaiti supporters, and restoring Kuwaiti football to the position it deserves.
