KUWAIT, Oct 25 (KUNA): Kuwait is committed to promoting community sports to encourage people from all segments of society to engage in physical activity, adopt healthy lifestyles, and improve their quality of life, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Tariq Al-Jalahma said.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following a community sporting event organized by the Kuwait Cycling Club along the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway, Al-Jalahma described such initiatives as an outstanding example of community sports, bringing cycling enthusiasts and amateurs together in a healthy and inclusive environment.
These activities also help promote a culture of physical exercise and strengthen positive communication and social interaction, he added.
Al-Jalahma said support for such initiatives aligns with the directives of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports to broaden participation in sports and encourage people to embrace healthy and sustainable lifestyles.
Sports, he stressed, are not limited to competitions and championships but also represent a community culture that improves public health and reinforces positive values.
He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among sports institutions, youth organizations, and community initiatives to create more opportunities for people to make physical activity part of their daily lives.
