Al-Jalahma: Cooperation with the Salisbury Club promotes a sports professionalism culture

Ali Al-Hamad, the president of the English football club Salisbury, presented a commemorative plaque to the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma.

KUWAIT CITY, June 23: Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma said yesterday that cooperation between the Public Authority for Sport and English club Salisbury represents an important step in promoting a culture of professionalism among young athletes.

In a press statement following his meeting with players selected for a professional training experience at Salisbury, Al-Jalahma highlighted that the initiative is part of a talent discovery and development program implemented by the Authority in partnership with the English club. The program aims to allow promising players to train in advanced professional environments and gain valuable technical and physical experience.

He stressed that the initiative reflects the state’s commitment to supporting young talents and aligns with its vision of building a generation capable of creativity and excellence across various fields through structured development programs.

Al-Jalahma added that the sports authority places strong emphasis on empowering young athletes and is keen to expand international partnerships with reputable clubs and institutions, providing Kuwaiti youth with real opportunities for growth in line with global standards.

He further noted that the program is part of broader efforts to prepare athletes capable of competing and representing Kuwait honorably in regional and international competitions.

The minister also congratulated the selected players on successfully passing the selection stages, saying their achievement reflects their strong potential and deserving talent.
