RIYADH , Feb 19: Al-Hilal extended its winning streak in the Saudi Roshan League, securing a 3-1 victory against Al-Raed in their recent encounter. Serbian striker Alexander Mitrovic matched the record set by Brazilian Wesley.

Mitrovic swiftly opened the scoring for Al Hilal in the third minute and later added a second goal in the 29th minute from a penalty kick. Senegalese Khalidou Koulibaly sealed the victory with the third goal in the 52nd minute, while Algerian Amir Saioud netted Al-Raed’s only goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time in the second half.With this win, Al Hilal achieved its 18th victory of the season and 13th consecutive, reaching 56 points and maintaining its top position in the league standings. The lead over the closest rival, Al-Nasr, widened to 7 points.

This victory marked another instance of Al-Hilal’s dominance over Al-Raed, with the latter having not won against the Blue Team for over 10 years. The last victory for Al-Raed was on October 5, 2013, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.Mitrovic’s achievement of scoring in 11 consecutive professional league matches makes him the second player in Al Hilal’s history to accomplish this feat, following in the footsteps of Brazilian Wesley in 2012.

In another match, Al-Ittihad Club maintained its impressive February record by defeating Al-Riyadh with a score of 2-0. With this result, Al-Ittihad’s total points rose to 34, securing the fifth position, 22 points behind the league leader, Al-Hilal. This victory marked the club’s tenth win of the season, along with 4 draws and 6 defeats.
