LONDON, Feb 9: Former Al-Qadsia Club president and ex-Kuwait Football Association chief, Fawaz Al-Hasawi, was targeted in a stabbing incident at his London home by unknown assailants.

According to media reports and social media accounts, two unidentified individuals broke into his Mayfair residence in central London at dawn yesterday. Armed with knives, they attempted to stab him in his bedroom. Al-Hasawi resisted and fought back, forcing the attackers to flee and leaving behind the weapons used in the incident. He was later taken to a hospital for treatment. British authorities have launched an investigation and are reviewing surveillance footage from both the home and the surrounding streets.

Al-Hasawi sustained multiple stab wounds to his hands, a neck injury, and scratches on his face, but his condition is reported to be stable.

In response to public concern, his lawyer, Khawla Mubarak Al-Hasawi, reassured everyone about his well-being. Posting on the X platform, she wrote: “Fawaz is fine, by God’s grace. May God protect him from all harm and bless him with the safety of his son, Abdulaziz.”
