Al-Hajeri’s landmark book traces Kuwait-Holy See ties

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: Apostolic Nuncio to Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain Eugene Martin Nugent said the relationship between the Holy See and Kuwait are based on solid foundations of friendship, trust, mutual respect and continuous communication. The Apostolic Nuncio made the statement at the Papal Embassy in Kuwait on the occasion of launching the book, “The History of Relations between the Holy See and the State of Kuwait”, by researcher Nasser Al-Hajeri, with several ambassadors, dignitaries and other guests in attendance. He stressed that the book is an important addition to documenting the history of the relationship between the Holy See and Kuwait.

He said that the book is the first comprehensive work dedicated to tracing the history of relations between the Holy See and the State of Kuwait. He congratulated Al- Hajeri on writing such as valuable book. He pointed out that the Holy See always gives importance to its relations with Kuwait, explaining that these relations have been strengthened over the years through dialogue, meetings, cooperation, goodwill, and a shared desire to promote peace, fraternity, religious freedom and understanding. He added that he is preparing to end his mission in Kuwait, and therefore feels very happy that one of the last events he hosted at the Papal Embassy is a celebration of the friendship between the Holy See and the State of Kuwait.
