KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: Al-Salmiya has finalized an agreement with Mubarak Al-Fanaini, paving the way for the defender’s return to the club ahead of the 2026–2027 season on a contract worth KD 80,000 per season.
Al-Fanaini began his football career with Al-Salmiya before joining Al-Qadsia in the 2023–2024 season on a three-year deal. However, a recent injury limited his playing time, leading Al-Qadsia to allow the player to explore alternative options.
Meanwhile, Al-Qadsia is close to securing the signature of Al-Salmiya midfielder Badr Jamal. Should negotiations be completed successfully, the player is expected to join the team immediately after the conclusion of the current campaign. Jamal has attracted interest from several clubs, but Al-Qadsia currently appears best placed to land his services.
In a related move, Algerian media outlets have reported that USM Alger winger Ghilas Qanawi has received an offer from Al-Qadsia at the request of head coach Nabil Maaloul, who previously worked with the player during his spell at the Algerian club last season.
Born in 1998, Qanawi operates on the left flank and has previously played for Al-Masry of Egypt, as well as Algerian clubs ES Sétif, Paradou AC, and CS Constantine.
Kazma has granted Jordanian international Anas Al-Awdat special leave, allowing him to travel home earlier this week due to his father’s health condition. The club has agreed that Al-Awdat will return before the start of next week, but remains open to loaning him to a Jordanian side until the end of the season should he require an extended stay.
Al-Awdat remains under contract with Kazma until June 2027.
