Al-Awadh, Behbehani win titles

The 8th Kuwait Open Tennis Tournament, which saw the participation of 500 tennis players of various age groups from both genders, has concluded. The tournament was organized under the patronage and in the presence of Head of Kuwait and Arab tennis associations Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber. The participants competed in a total of 302 matches, majority of which witnessed high level performance from the players and represented entertainment for the huge turnout of fans.

The final match was attended by Ali Murad Al-Behbehani who is the Board Chairman of Behbehani Group, which is the main sponsor of the tournament since its inception in 2003. Representatives of the sponsor bodies of the tournament were also present. In the final doubles match, Mohammad Khaleq Sadiq and Bryan Rinckwest defeated Ali Abdulrahman Al-Awadhi and Abdullah Rashid Al-Mukaimi with scores of 6/4 and 6/1. The closing ceremony began with the association honoring the sponsors of the tournament.

Also, Ali Murad Behbehani honored Kuwait’s tennis superstar Mohammad Al-Ghareeb with a valuable prize – a “Porsche” car. Regarding the final results, Abdulrahman Al-Awadh won the men’s singles match, Sarah Behbehani won the women’s singles match. The Under-11 singles match was won by Abdulwahab Al-Abdullah and the Under-13 singles match was won by Santiansh Turaibathi. The amateur Under- 18 singles match for men was won by Ahmad Khamees and the amateur Under-18 singles match for women was won by Farida Al-Ayat. Jarokola Shodri won the singles match for men above 45 years of age, and Zauran Dimetrifitic won the singles match for men above 55 years of age. The doubles match for men above 45 years of age was won by Marlon Olakar and his colleague Jarokola Shodri
