Al-Attar officiates at the World Masters Weightlifting Championship

ATHENS, Sept. 20: Kuwaiti international referee Ashwaq Al-Attar is officiating at the World Masters Weightlifting Championship in Athens, Greece, which runs until Sept. 26.

More than 1,400 lifters from around the world are taking part in the championship.

Al-Attar’s appointment follows her recent officiating duties at some international and continental events, including the Masters Championship in Abu Dhabi and the Asian Masters Championship.

Her continued presence at major overseas competitions reflects the confidence she has earned from the International Weightlifting Federation and continental governing bodies, while also highlighting the growing presence of Kuwaiti referees in international weightlifting.

Al-Attar thanked the International Weightlifting Federation and the championship organizers for selecting her to officiate at the event. She said the appointment was the result of years of work and experience gained through local, Gulf, Arab, and continental competitions.
