KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: Al-Arabi faced little resistance in winning over Khaitan club with a resounding 4-0 victory in their encounter this Friday during the 12th round of the Zain Premier League. Al-Arabi now stands at the top of the league with 29 points, maintaining a close competition with rivals Al-Qadisiyah and Kuwait, while Khaitan remains at a standstill with 6 points in the league standings. The notable moment of the match was the retirement of Khaitan player Youssef Matar, under the supervision of Municipal Council member Abdullah Al-Hathal.

The dominance of Al-Arabi was evident from the early stages of the game, with Ali Khalaf netting a goal in the 4th minute. The lead was further extended with a perfectly executed penalty kick by Bandar Salama in the 38th minute. Mamadou Thiam contributed the third goal with an assist from substitute Saif Al-Hashan in the 75th minute, and the scoring was concluded with a fourth goal by Juma Abboud in the 94th minute. Despite the absence of key players such as top scorer Hamza Khaba, midfielder Walid Al-Sabbar, and main goalkeeper Suleiman Abdel-Ghafouz, Al-Arabi, under the guidance of Serbian coach Darko, demonstrated a formidable performance. The team, led by Ahmed Dashti in goal, launched a series of attacks, facilitated by the effective movements of Nayef Hamid and Abdel-Rahman Al-Dhafiri in the midfield, and the contributions of right-back Juma Abboud in offensive duties.

Bandar Al-Salama and Ali Khalaf in the forward positions added to the opponent’s defensive challenges, ultimately leading to a well-deserved victory for Al-Arabi. In contrast, Khaitan struggled to keep up with their opponent, experiencing a decline in offensive effectiveness. The team failed to pose a significant threat to Al-Arabi’s goal, with only sporadic individual attempts that were easily handled by the opponent’s defense. Referee Abdullah Al-Kandari officiated the match, making a correct call by awarding a penalty kick to Al-Arabi.
