Al-Arabi secures well-earned win in Volleyball League final round

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: In a thrilling matchup, Al-Arabi emerged victorious with a 3-2 score against Burgan in the final round of the first division of the volleyball league. The intense competition saw Al-Kuwait defeating Al-Tadamon 3-0, and Kazma claiming a similar 3-0 victory over Al-Yarmouk.

Maintaining their flawless record, Al-Kuwait continues to lead the standings with an impressive 25 points. Al-Arabi, with this win, elevated its score to 19 points, tying with Burgan, while Yarmouk stands at 10 points, and Al-Tadamon trails with 6 points.

With the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals, the stage is set for exciting matchups. The first will face the fourth, and the second will take on the third in a “play-off” system involving three matches in the semi-finals. The winners will then progress to the final match, following the same system.

The clash between Al-Arabi and Burgan was intense throughout. Burgan dominated the first half, securing a 25-16 lead. However, Al-Arabi mounted a strong comeback, taking the second half 25-22. Al-Akhdar continued its momentum in the third half, dominating with a score of 25-11. Despite Burgan’s win in the fourth game (25-21), Al-Arabi sealed the victory in a tiebreaker, claiming a decisive 15-5 win. This well-deserved triumph temporarily places Al-Arabi in third place.

In the second match, Al-Kuwait faced challenges from Al-Tadamon but secured victory in three rounds with scores of 26-24, 25-14, and 25-22. Following suit, Kazma concluded their match against Yarmouk in three games, securing victories with scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-18.
