KUWAIT CITY, April 24: In the 23rd round of the Zain Kuwaiti Football Premier League, Al-Arabi Club dominated its opponent, Salmiya SC, with a 3-0 victory on Monday at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium in the first group competitions. Abdullah Ammar scored a hat-trick, with goals in the 63rd minute, Muhammad Al-Sola via a penalty kick in the 78th minute, and Salman Al-Awadi in the 85th minute.
The win puts Al-Arabi closer to the top of the league standings, with 41 points and in sixth place. They reduced the point gap between them and Kuwait, the league leaders, from 43 to just two points.
In other matches from the previous day’s round, Kuwait took the lead with a 4-1 win over Kazma, while Al-Qadisiyah secured a 3-2 victory over Fahaheel, bringing the winner’s score to 34 points and occupying the fourth place, while the loser remained in fifth place with 28 points. (KUNA)
