Al Arabi qualifies for quarter-finals of Amir Cup

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: Al-Arabi Club qualified for the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup football competition, after defeating Al-Yarmouk with 6-1 in the preliminary round of the competition. Al-Arabi started the match controlling it amid caution from Yarmouk, red card for Yarmouk’s player Jerry Lyon in the 33rd minute changed the course of the match.

Al-Arabi scored the first goal through Yarmouk player Ricardo (self goal) in the 38th minute, later Al-Arabi player Jumaa Abboud added the second goal in the 43rd minute to end the first half Arab progress.

In the second half, Al-Arabi’s Hassan Hamdan in the 48th minute, Al-Senussi Al-Hadi in the 73rd minute, Suleiman Al-Awadi in the 86th minute, and Muhammad Al-Soula in the 95th minute scored goals, while Al-Yarmouk’s only goal was scored by Hashem Al-Ramzi in the 80th minute.

Al-Arabi will meet the winners between Al-Nasr and Al-Jahra match in the quarter-finals. The preliminary round matches of the competition will be completed tomorrow, Monday, when Al-Nasr will face Al-Jahra, Kuwait will meet Al-Tadamon, and Al-Shabab will play against Al-Salmiya.
