Al Arabi of Qatar Secures Victory Over Kuwaits’ Burgan Club

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 27: In the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries Handball Cup Winners’ Club Championship’s 40th edition, hosted by the Qatari club Al-Arabi, Kuwait’s Burgan Club faced a defeat against Al Arabi with a score of 27-30 in their first group match. Despite Burgan’s efforts to stage a comeback in the second half, they couldn’t overturn the deficit, resulting in their second consecutive loss in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Al-Deir secured a victory against Oman’s Oman with a score of 25-23 in the same group. Following these outcomes, Al-Arabi currently leads the first group standings with four points, closely followed by Al-Deir, while Burgan and Amman sit at the bottom with zero points.

Tomorrow, Kuwait’s Al-Kuwait will compete in the second round of Group Two against Qatar’s Al-Rayyan.Burgan had previously suffered a defeat against Bahrain’s Al-Deir in their opening match, losing 27-25, while Al-Kuwait secured a victory against Maliha from the Emirates with a score of 32-28. The championship, which commenced last Sunday, will continue until March 5th, featuring eight teams divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the tournament’s semi-finals.
