KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: Al-Arabi secured a 3-1 victory over Yarmouk in a friendly at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium, as the team prepares for their upcoming clash against Salmiya in the fifth round of the Zain Premier League.
Al-Arabi currently sits third in the league standings with 8 points, just one behind Salmiya in second place and two behind Kuwait Club, who lead the table.
Portuguese coach Marco Figueiredo took the opportunity to give playing time to several young players, as key team members were either with the national team or sidelined due to injuries.
The match saw participation from promising goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Ayoub, along with Abdullah Faris, Yousef Sabah, and Hussein Adnan. Squad players who are not regular starters, including Abdullah Ammar and Nasser Salem, also featured, while goalkeeper Suleiman Abdulghafour made his return after recovering from injury.
For Yarmouk, coach Dhaher Al-Adwani aimed to use the friendly as preparation for the resumption of the Zain First Division League. The team currently sits in third place with 9 points, one behind Al-Jazeera in second place and three behind the leader, Al-Sulaibikhat.
