KUWAIT CITY, April 8: Al-Arabi against Al-Qadisiya Derby ended in a deadlock in the third round of the Zain Premier League championship group at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. Badr Al-Mutawa put Al-Qadisiya ahead in the 14th minute, only for Al-Arabi to level the score in the 39th minute through Moroccan player Hamza Khaba.

This marks the third draw between Al-Arabi and Al-Qadisiya this season, following 1-1 and 2-2 results in previous encounters.

The match saw intense excitement from both teams, with fans enjoying two hours of exhilarating action as both sides launched attacks. Despite Al-Qadisiya holding more possession, Al-Arabi appeared more threatening in attack. Both teams pushed for a winner but ultimately settled for a point each.

Al-Qadisiya coach Muhammad Al-Mashaan admitted his team fell short in the derby, highlighting deficiencies in ball retention and buildup play. He acknowledged Al-Qadisiya’s potential to perform better, especially after taking an early lead.

Al-Mashaan emphasized the impact of the derby’s intensity on the technical aspects of the game, expressing hope for improvement in future matches.

The Zain Premier League will go on hiatus until April 27 to accommodate the participation of the Kuwaiti Under-23 Olympic team in the Asian Cup finals, scheduled to take place in Qatar from April 15 to May 5.
