KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: Al Amiri Hospital recently conducted 12 complex surgeries as part of its Hernia Surgery and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Workshop. The event was organized by the hospital and featured renowned hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction specialist, Dr. Grigoris Chatzimavrodis.
Dr. Mufrej Al-Hajri, a specialist in general surgery, advanced obesity, and surgical robotics, highlighted that the workshop aligns with the Ministry of Health’s goals under the visiting physicians program. "These workshops are designed to attract international medical expertise, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients," he told Al-Rai.
The four-day workshop focused on performing 12 intricate hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction surgeries, with each procedure lasting an average of five hours.
Despite the high-risk nature of these operations, Dr. Al-Hajri emphasized the confidence in Kuwait’s medical staff. "With the expertise of our team and the involvement of Dr. Grigoris Chatzimavrodis, a leading expert in Europe, we aim to achieve the best results with minimal complications," he stated.
Dr. Ali Al-Juwaid, a specialist in obesity surgery, added that performing such complex procedures requires extensive preparation, including patient evaluations, anesthesia coordination, and the setup of advanced medical equipment and techniques.
