Al-Ajmi joins the Kuwait Basketball Federation board

KUWAIT CITY, June 8: The Board of Directors of the Kuwait Basketball Federation has approved the appointment of Falah Al-Ajmi as a member of the board for the remainder of the current electoral term (2023–2027), in accordance with Article (34-5) of the federation’s statutes. The decision was taken during an emergency meeting, chaired by Board President Dhari Barjas.

The appointment was approved unanimously by all members during meeting No. (21/2026).

Al-Ajmi expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the board, stressing that his new role carries significant responsibility and requires continued institutional work, as well as stronger cooperation across the Kuwaiti basketball community.

He added that key priorities in the coming period will include the development of both men’s and women’s national teams across all age groups, alongside greater focus on discovering and developing emerging talent as the foundation for the future of Kuwaiti basketball. He also highlighted the importance of enhancing administrative and technical structures in line with best practices and sports governance standards to further strengthen the game locally and internationally.

Al-Ajmi also praised the efforts of the federation’s chairman and board members, noting that their initiatives have helped reinforce the status of Kuwaiti basketball and improve its competitiveness at regional and Arab levels.
