ABU DHABI, Nov 10: Al-Ahly lifted the Egyptian Super Cup after defeating its long-time rival Zamalek 2-0 at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, UAE, securing the trophy for the fifth consecutive year.

Achraf Bencharki and Marwan Atiya scored in the 44th and 72nd minutes, giving the Cairo club its 16th Super Cup title and reinforcing its status as the most decorated team in the tournament’s history.

The victory also extends Al-Ahly’s dominance over Zamalek in Super Cup finals, marking its eighth win against Zamalek in a final, while Zamalek has only prevailed twice via penalty shootouts in 2003 and 2020.

Overall, in 32 finals across domestic and continental competitions, Al-Ahly have now achieved 19 victories, compared to 13 for Zamalek, further cementing their historic rivalry.
