Crowned champions Al-Ahli Football Academy celebrate after winning the 2008-born KAFA Cup.

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Al-Ahli Football Academy of Kuwait have been crowned champions of the 2008-born KAFA Cup after trouncing Franco Football Academy by a score of 2-1 in a hardfought final match. The team put up a scintillating performance under the tutelage of Coach Hossam Fawzi, goalkeeper trainer Hamada Magdi and Academy Coordinator Hassan Ezat.

The team have so far been having an excellent season. The players displayed character and high performance standard throughout the course of the tournament. They started pursuing the trophy with a goalless draw against Al-Fara’enah Academy before a 1-1 draw against the Celtic Academy.

They defeated JawfiAcademy by a score of 1-0 to qualify from the preliminary stage. During the semifinal, Al-Ahli Academy overcame Al-YoufiAcademy by a score of 2-1 in a match that was decided by penalty shootouts.

The club’s goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al-Seyyid played a vital role in the victory, considering how firmly he held the post to deny the opponents from scoring in the penalty shootouts during the semifinal and final encounters. Other star players of the tournament that combined efforts to earn their team a deserved trophy included Yasin Amin, Ali Amro, Mohammad Yousef, Abdul-Rahman Fayadh, Adham Haitham, Noor Shihab, Zeyad Yousef and Young player shows off his trophy Ahmad Ashraf.
