Al Ahli celebrates after completing a comeback victory over Al Hazem in the Roshn Saudi League.

RIYADH, Sept 12: Al Ahli Jeddah bounced back from its previous defeat by coming from behind to beat Al Hazem 3-1 in the seventh round of the Roshn Saudi League.

Al Ahli, who suffered its third defeat in six matches against Al Qadsiah last round, had also lost to Al Kholood and Al Hilal earlier in the campaign.

Al Hazem stunned the host by taking the lead through Ahmed Al Nakhli after just two minutes. Al Ahli responded in the 21st minute when Portuguese forward Francisco Trincão levelled the score.

Ivan Toney then put Al Ahli ahead from the penalty spot 11 minutes later before adding his second goal in stoppage time to seal the victory.

Toney had the opportunity to complete his hat-trick early in the second half but missed a penalty in the 49th minute.

The win took Al Ahli to 12 points in fifth place, while Al Hazem remained seventh with eight points.

Meanwhile, Al Ittihad continued its impressive start to the season with a 3-1 away victory over Al Faisaly, extending its winning streak in the Roshn Saudi League.

The result moved Al Ittihad to the top of the table with 17 points, one ahead of Al Qadsiah, who were held to a 3-3 draw by Al Ettifaq.

Al Faisaly remained second from the bottom with three points.
