KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: Kuwait Handball Association Secretary-General Gayed Al-Adwani hailed the positive atmosphere surrounding the association’s ordinary General Assembly meeting, saying the strong attendance and support from members had laid the foundation for a new phase of work.
Speaking after the meeting, Al-Adwani thanked the General Assembly members for their continued backing of the association and Kuwaiti handball.
“Their presence and continued support are greatly appreciated. They have always stood by the association and the sport,” he said.
The assembly approved the association’s administrative and financial reports, along with its work plan for the coming year.
Al-Adwani said the meeting also completed the formation of the board following vacancies in the positions of president and assistant secretary-general.
Engineer Ahmad Al-Sharea was endorsed as president for the remainder of the current term, while Mohammed Al-Khamis was endorsed as assistant secretary-general.
“We congratulate them on the confidence placed in them and wish them success in carrying out their responsibilities,” Al-Adwani said.
He also called on the board to continue working as a unified team to achieve its objectives and further develop Kuwaiti handball.
Al-Adwani stressed that the coming period would require the combined efforts of all stakeholders, particularly with several commitments awaiting the national teams and domestic competitions.
He added that the General Assembly’s continued support would remain a key pillar in sustaining the association’s work and advancing the sport.
