DUBAI, Sep 8: Travellers across the UAE are facing another day of disrupted air travel, with delays and cancellations reported at both Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and Dubai International Airport as regional tensions continue to affect flight operations.

Several flights departing Abu Dhabi have been delayed, while Air Arabia has cancelled services to Kuwait and Bahrain. Etihad Airways flights to Bahrain and Kuwait are largely operating as scheduled, although some services from Abu Dhabi are experiencing delays.

From Dubai, Emirates is operating selected flights to Bahrain and Kuwait, while a limited number of other international services have also been affected by delays.

Travel between the UAE and Indonesia remains disrupted due to volcanic ash linked to Mount Anak Krakatau. Meanwhile, Air France has extended its suspension of Dubai flights through September 10, adding to the uncertainty facing passengers travelling to and from the region.

The disruptions come as security tensions in and around the Gulf remain elevated. Iran has warned that it can target US Navy vessels involved in enforcing Washington’s blockade on Iranian shipping, raising further concerns over the security of regional maritime and aviation routes.
