While some highlighted the potential dangers of artificial intelligence and its impact on jobs, others suggested that some professions will disappear, while others will be created by artificial intelligence. The first session tackled the digital transformation in public relations and media. Director of the Security Media Department at the Ministry of Interior Othman Al-Gharib stated that the Ministry of Interior adopted digital transformation. He said more than 55 of the services that the ministry offers are available on the Sahel platform, which greatly facilitated service delivery. He warned about the danger posed by some individuals exploiting technology to fabricate videos and spread false information and rumors, asserting that the ministry deals firmly with those who spread rumors. He pointed out that artificial intelligence has many advantages, including saving time and effort, and emphasized that the ministry continues to develop and utilize artificial intelligence. He added that paper transactions are on their way to disappearing in light of the digital transformation.
Meanwhile, Colonel Ali Al-Rashid, representing Kuwait Fire Force (KFF), said the new applications facilitated many things, especially in terms of dealing with rumors and exaggeration, because they give quick access to information. He affirmed that the electronic transformation simplified matters and that the prevention sector has been fully digitized. He cited the use of artificial intelligence in awareness campaigns to provide real-time translation of awareness messages into multiple languages, stressing that rumors are being monitored and teams are working round the clock to reveal the truth. The second session discussed public relations strategies and media crisis management. Dr. Mohammad Al-Shammari from Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences stated that artificial intelligence has become the main driver in developing public relations and customer service activities in modern institutions. He confirmed that it has contributed to the qualitative leap, improved the quality of services, and enabled rapid and effective response to beneficiaries’ needs. Dr. Mutlaq Al-Omairi, also from the academy, talked about the importance of developing public opinion measurement tools using artificial intelligence. He added that previous methods relied on traditional surveys, which are no longer effective. He then stressed that artificial intelligence remains a machine, which requires human intellect.
