KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: The Kuwait University administration has asked faculty members to adhere to the period approved for them for vacation, sabbatical, and scientific leadership missions, following the increase in the submission of applications for postponement after being approved, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The Acting Deputy President of Scientific Affairs sent a letter to the deans of the faculties, calling for adherence to the time period for scientific leave, sabbatical, and academic scientific missions, especially after being approved. According to the letter, there is an increase in the number of requests for postponement of these vacations and missions, some of which are submitted immediately after the university director issues decisions to approve them.

The large number of requests for postponement has increased the burdens on the departments of colleges and the administration of faculty affairs. When a lecturer is unable to take the scientific leave, the scientific sabbatical, or academic mission within the time period stipulated by the decision of the university director, he must submit a request to cancel it, and reapply it within the approved time period, which is one academic year before the date of the leave.
