KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: What began as a gathering near a café in Abu Halifa turned into a violent six-man brawl after three unidentified men allegedly approached three young men and verbally abused them, leading to a physical confrontation that left the victims with injuries to their heads, ears, faces and hands.
According to a security source, a 19-year-old Kuwaiti citizen reported the incident to security authorities after he and two others were confronted by three unknown individuals. The suspects were reportedly travelling in a gold-colored German-made vehicle and fled the scene shortly after the fight.
The injured men were unable to provide police with the identities of their attackers, leaving investigators with only a description of the suspects, the number of people involved and details of the vehicle.
Medical reports revealed that the confrontation resulted in more than minor injuries. The first victim suffered a laceration and bruising to the head. The second, a 14-year-old, sustained more serious injuries, including a laceration and perforation to his left ear, as well as scratches and bruises to his face.
A 13-year-old who was also involved in the incident was found to have swelling in his right hand, according to his medical report.
After recording the victims’ statements and attaching their medical reports to the case file, the matter was referred to the Public Prosecution, which ordered the registration of an assault case and instructed the Criminal Investigation Department to identify the three suspects and determine the circumstances and reasons behind the confrontation.
Investigators are now working to trace the gold-colored vehicle and establish what triggered the altercation that quickly turned a routine gathering near a café into a violent street fight.
