Abu Futaira Crackdown: Hundreds of Violations and Dozens Arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: A large-scale security campaign in the Abu Futaira Industrial Area, commonly known as the Al-Qurain Markets, resulted in hundreds of traffic and commercial violations, along with the arrest of wanted individuals and residency violators.

The campaign was carried out by the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Security Directorate in coordination with the General Traffic Department, the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the Kuwait Municipality, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, and Public Authority for Manpower.

The campaign resulted in the following violations and enforcement actions:

  • 189 traffic violations issued.
  • 42 Kuwait Municipality violations recorded.
  • 34 Ministry of Commerce and Industry violations issued.
  • 16 Food violations recorded.
  • 37 stickers placed on abandoned vehicles.
  • 2 vehicles impounded for traffic violations.
  • 1 vehicle impounded pursuant to a judicial warrant.
  • 6 individuals arrested for violating residency laws.
  • 22 individuals arrested for having expired residency permits.
  • 6 wanted individuals apprehended in connection with various cases.
  • 1 individual arrested for failing to carry proper identification.
  • 1 person arrested for possessing alcohol

Authorities said the necessary legal and administrative measures were taken against the violators and wanted persons, with cases requiring further action referred to the relevant authorities.
