ABU DHABI, Dec 3: Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Center and under the “Your Comment” initiative, released a video showing a series of traffic accidents resulting from driver distraction and failure to pay attention during sudden traffic stops.
The police urged motorists to avoid all forms of distraction and keep their focus solely on the road to prevent unexpected hazards and ensure timely, safe reactions. They stressed that negligence in such situations can lead to severe or fatal accidents.
Authorities highlighted the dangers of using mobile phones while driving—including browsing the internet, scrolling social media, making calls, or taking photos—warning that these behaviors significantly increase the risk of serious collisions.
Abu Dhabi Police also reminded the public that the penalty for distracted driving is a fine of AED 800 and four traffic points.
