Abu Dhabi Police Arrest 375 for Spreading Misleading Information

ABU DHABI, Apr 8: Authorities in Abu Dhabi have arrested 375 individuals for filming and circulating misleading information on social media related to ongoing regional tensions, police said.

Abu Dhabi Police said the arrests were made despite repeated warnings against sharing unverified content. Those detained have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.

Officials stressed that spreading panic and inciting public opinion through false information is a punishable offence, adding that such actions will not be tolerated.

Police urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid sharing rumours or unverified reports. Authorities also said they continue to monitor social media closely and have detained hundreds of individuals for similar violations since the start of the conflict.
