ABK introduces series of new developments to digital channels – Bank continues to implement its ‘Simpler’ banking strategy

KUWAIT CITY, March 7: In line with its commitment to making Banking ‘Simpler’ for its customers, Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) recently announced that it has deployed a series of new developments to its digital channels, which are now live to all ABK customers. The new enhancements allow customers to manage their banking needs more securely, conveniently and in less time.

The first of these developments applied by ABK is the suppression of all SMS’ for any transactions made for the value of KD 1 or less. For cash withdrawals from Knet ATMs, subscribed customers will receive only one summary message, as opposed to the two messages customers used to receive.

ABK has also applied an all new ‘Automatic Caller ID Recognition’ system. This allows any customer calling the ABK Call Centre from a mobile number registered in the Bank’s SMS subscription database to be automatically identified. In this case, the customer is only required to enter the four digit PIN number for verification, instead of the need to identify themselves. Due to this development, calls are less time consuming since keystrokes have been reduced substantially and customers no longer need to have their card and account details in hand prior to the call.

The ‘Priority Call Center Queue for International Callers’ system is another enhancement introduced by the Bank, where customers calling from abroad are now automatically identified and transferred to a ‘priority queue’, minimizing the waiting time. The Bank will also be rolling out a much simpler menu structure for those callers, which will be announced in due time.

Last but not least, customers can now pay their utility bills and enjoy other services (e.g. iTunes Cards) easily and securely, from anywhere, by simply calling Ahlan Ahli at 1899 899, and selecting the relevant IVR option.
