KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, emphasized that Kuwait Sports Day, scheduled for February 7, embodies the state’s vision of making sports an integral part of daily life. He noted that the event reflects the leadership’s commitment to supporting community sports, promoting public health, and enhancing quality of life, underscoring the belief that sports are essential for building strong individuals and a thriving society.

Abdullah highlighted that the state, through its various governmental institutions, prioritizes sports for all as a key tool for health prevention, social cohesion, and discovering young talent. He confirmed that the Public Authority for Sports is working closely with the Kuwait Sports for All Federation, government entities, civil organizations, and the private sector to ensure the success of this national initiative.

He added that Kuwait Sports Day goes beyond physical activities. The event delivers a comprehensive awareness message, targeting all segments of society—from children and youth to the elderly and people with disabilities—promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities, and reinforcing the principle that sports are a right for everyone.

Abdullah also explained that the programs and activities accompanying the day have been carefully designed to suit all ages and abilities. The initiative aims to foster a culture of physical activity and motivate individuals to adopt healthy, sustainable lifestyles, in line with Kuwait Vision 2035 and the Public Authority for Sports’ 2022–2028 strategy to develop sports and build a healthy, productive society.
