KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Kuwaiti rider Abdullah Al-Awadhi was crowned champion of the International Police Show Jumping Championship, held at the Police Union’s racetrack in Sobhan. The competition, featuring riders from Kuwait as well as Arab, Gulf, and European countries, will continue until Saturday evening, showcasing intense contests among male and female riders competing for top honors.
The three-day event, organized by the Police Sports Union, was held under the patronage of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf, and attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib, President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Director of the Police Academy Brigadier Ali Jassim Al-Wuhaib.
Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah, President of the Police Sports Union, expressed his sincere gratitude to Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef for his continuous support of sports and efforts to advance the country’s athletic initiatives.
In the Grand Prix round, with obstacles set at 145 cm, Al-Awadhi secured first place with a flawless jump-off in 43.47 seconds. He was followed by Hamad Al-Hajri, Ali Al-Kharafi, Chad Fellows (UK), Fawaz Al-Subaie, Anaz Al-Anaz, Rakan Al-Hasawi, and Zain Shadi Samir.
