KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: At just nine years old, Abdulaziz Adnan Bedi is already turning heads in Kuwait’s sports scene. The young prodigy, a student and footballer for Al-Arabi Club, has amassed an impressive list of achievements that belie his age, proving that dedication and talent know no boundaries.
Rising Star in Kuwait
In 2024, Abdulaziz earned three nominations for the Best Player award, claiming the trophy once and being named Player of the Month—a testament to his consistent performance on the pitch. His efforts played a key role in leading Al-Arabi Sports Club to three championship victories, drawing the attention of fans and pundits alike as one of the brightest prospects in Kuwaiti soccer. Beyond soccer, Abdulaziz’s versatility is evident in his first-place finish in kajukenbo martial arts in 2022, a testament to his commitment to athletic excellence across multiple disciplines.

International Experience and Academic Excellence
Abdulaziz has proudly represented Kuwait on the international stage, notably at the Arab Elite Championship in Abu Dhabi. He further enhanced his skillset by attending a soccer camp in Izmir, Turkey, where he was exposed to advanced training methods and diverse playing styles. Remarkably, Abdulaziz remains equally dedicated to his studies, earning the Excellence Award for the 2022–2023 academic year and being honored at the Outstanding Students’ Awards Ceremony. His participation as a scout in national events, often alongside senior officials such as the Kuwaiti Minister of Information, underscores his well-rounded upbringing.
The Family Behind the Talent
Abdulaziz’s rapid progress is anchored by a family committed to nurturing talent while preserving normalcy. His parents recall his extraordinary focus and determination from an early age, describing how he balanced rigorous training with childhood joy. “He enjoys his holidays and rest times—we always ensure there’s a balance between training and play,” they shared. The family’s lifestyle has adapted to support Abdulaziz, with travel plans and vacations now revolving around his sporting schedule. They remain vigilant, emphasizing motivation through encouragement rather than pressure and prioritizing his educational growth alongside his athletic development. Their greatest hope is for Abdulaziz to reach the professional level abroad while maintaining academic excellence, expressing concern only for potential injuries or excessive pressure that could diminish his love for the game.
Expert Insight from the Coach
Abdulaziz’s coach highlights both technical and tactical strengths: “Aziz stands out for his concentration and rapid response under pressure, displaying tactical maturity rare for his age.” Training is carefully balanced, encompassing physical, mental, and technical aspects, to develop not just talent but also resilience and discipline. The coach notes the challenge of guiding gifted players who may feel they know best, stressing the importance of hard work and consistent discipline over raw talent. “If Aziz continues on this path, I see him achieving great things—perhaps even joining major clubs or the national team, provided he maintains his drive and discipline.” The coach’s advice for parents: foster encouragement, prioritize balance between sport and study, accept both victory and defeat, and provide steady psychological and nutritional support.
Interview with Abdulaziz Adnan
Question: At what age did you start playing soccer?
Answer: I started when I was 5 years old, and I have loved it ever since.
Q: There are many clubs in Kuwait. What made you choose Al-Arabi?
A: Because of the club’s strong fan base, rich history, and championships. Also, most of my family supports Al-Arabi.
Q: Balancing school and training can be hard. How do you manage both?
A: I try to finish my homework on time, and sometimes I study after training as well.
Q: What do your parents want you to focus on more — school or football?

A: Defender. I enjoy stopping attacks and protecting my team — I feel it suits my style best as a strong center-back.

A: Sergio Ramos, because he’s a center-back like me, a strong leader, and the captain of Real Madrid. I admire his leadership and personality.
