Abbey’s Productions launches a cinematic campaign with Al Watan Baqee (The Homeland Remains)

KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Abbey’s Productions, the trailblazing media house led by Sheikha Abrar Khaled Al Sabah, has officially announced the launch of a definitive cinematic campaign designed to galvanize the national spirit and pay tribute to Kuwait’s frontline heroes. In an unprecedented show of solidarity, the production house has mobilized Kuwait’s leading stars and celebrities, leveraging their collective influence to support the national cause through two landmark works: “Al Watan Baqee” (The Homeland Remains) and “Abtalana Fakhrana” (Our Heroes, Our Pride).

“Al Watan Baqee” serves as a sophisticated historical retrospective, weaving a narrative of endurance through Kuwait’s most pivotal trials. The work bridges the collective memory of the 1985 café bombings (Tafjirat Al Maqahi Al Shaabeya), the hijacking of the “Al-Jabriya,” the 1990 Gulf War, and the 2003 Souq Sharq bombing with contemporary challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and modern regional tensions.

The production underscores a singular truth: Kuwait’s history is defined not by the crises it faces, but by its unwavering ability to emerge from them more unified. Complementing this historical lens, “Abtalana Fakhrana” spotlights the modern-day guardians across the armed forces, police, and healthcare sectors. By uniting the nation’s most recognizable icons in this tribute, Abbey’s Productions has transformed a media project into a movement of national gratitude, reinforcing the Nakhwa (Noble Chivalry) and civic duty that bind the community together. Recognizing the cultural and strategic importance of the campaign, the Ministry of Information (MOI) has selected these works for their exceptional quality and national significance. Consequently, the productions are now being broadcast officially on Kuwait Television, ensuring these messages of pride and resilience reach every household across the country.

A central element of the campaign’s forward-looking vision is the inclusion of Kuwaiti children, who take center stage in the upcoming visual installments. By depicting the youth stepping into the metaphorical shoes of today’s frontliners, the production highlights these heroes as the ultimate blueprints for the next generation. Sheikha Abrar Khaled Al Sabah, Founder of Abbey’s Productions, emphasized that this initiative represents a deep personal commitment that transcends her role as an entrepreneur: “At this critical juncture, our absolute priority is the internal cohesion and psychological fortitude of our people. We believe that the creative and entertainment sectors are not merely for aesthetic expression, but carry a profound responsibility toward the state. Art is a vital platform for national support and a strategic vessel for unity, especially during times that demand we stand as one. By mobilizing our creative elite, we have transformed the media landscape into a pillar of national resilience.”

Sheikha Abrar continued: “I am deeply honored that the Ministry of Information has selected these works for broadcast on our national television. For me, this is the simplest duty I can perform for Kuwait—not merely as an entrepreneur, but first and foremost as a daughter of this land. To contribute to the security of the national spirit is the highest honor I can achieve as a Kuwaiti, and it is a commitment that will always define my work.” By employing elite production standards, Abbey’s Productions ensures these national messages resonate with the dignity they deserve. The campaign fosters a deep sense of security and pride across all generations, reminding the public that Kuwait is strong enough to endure any challenge and return even more resilient.
