KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The Family Welfare Department in the Ministry of Social Affairs disburses approximately 250 million dinars annually in the form of aid, which is deposited at a rate of 20 to 21 million in bank accounts of about 45,000 beneficiaries each month of those who are eligible, reports Al-Jarida daily.
This is done in accordance with the Aid Law and its executive regulations.
According to the sources, this aid is disbursed to the following categories -- students, married students, the elderly, orphans, widows, divorcees, the sick, the financially disabled, unmarried women, families of prisoners, prisoners who have been released and are being rehabilitated and women married to non-Kuwaitis.
