KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: In a groundbreaking moment for Kuwait’s sports history, the nation is set to participate for the first time in the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship, now in its fourth edition. The championship is scheduled to take place in the Kingdom of Bahrain this December, marking Bahrain as the inaugural Gulf and Arab country to host the continental competition. This event caters to youth under 18, featuring both general and junior categories. Previous editions were held in Singapore, Thailand, and Tajikistan.
Muhammad Qambar, President of the Bahraini and Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federations, confirmed the official approval for a Kuwaiti team to join the Bahrain Sports Forum for Mixed Martial Arts. This forum is slated to run for a full week, coinciding with Bahrain’s national holiday celebrations. The event is conducted in collaboration with Brave International, a prominent international sports organization with a focus on martial arts and self-defense.
Kuwait’s delegation is expected to comprise 15 players, each participating in one of the seven different weight categories officially approved by the game’s Asian Federation program.
Qambar revealed that Bahrain’s preparations, in coordination with the International Federation of Martial Arts, have been underway for over two months. Registration has seen a significant influx of interest, with expectations of 17 countries participating in the tournament
