Marham Al-Balushi

DAMASCUS, Syria, Oct 24, (Agencies): In her first comment on her recent health crisis, which led to her hospitalization and intensive care, the Syrian artist Marham Al-Balushi confirmed that her illness experience had revealed the true nature of people, showing who loves her, cares for her, and stands by her during her ordeal. She stated, "My journey of illness unveiled everyone. I found certain people beside me, starting with my brother and his wife, along with their children. I opened my eyes from a coma, and there they were."

She continued, "The circle became narrow and closed around me, my children, my sisters, and my mother only, along with some close friends from outside the show business. The illness was like a filter, and what's strange is that during the recovery phase, people appeared who had disappeared and hadn't asked about me. Despite not knowing some of them, they sent me flowers to the hospital, and they are the true support."

Regarding the details of her health crisis, Marham explained, "I was filming the series 'Dafat Al-Qahira' in Egypt, and I was working for more than 14 hours a day, exerting a great effort in performing the role. I had a heart attack, and a stent was inserted. I spent a week in the hospital, then left and continued shooting my scenes because this is a responsibility."

She added, "After that, the 'corona' pandemic came, and I contracted the virus three times. Since I suffer from asthma, blood vessel problems, and lung issues, and due to the fluctuating weather and dust in our region, I was admitted to the hospital more than once. The latest crisis happened when I was returning from Dammam, where I was participating in the play 'Al-Tabaq Al-Thani.' Due to the workload and life's rush, I forgot my health, and this is what happened."

In another context, Marham Al-Balushi, in statements to the "Kalim Nawaim" program, affirmed that she avoids rumors and hearsay. She added, "You don't just listen; you have to see things with your own eyes first. They slaughtered me with the word 'they say.' So, I am extremely careful to see things before I speak about them because I have a responsibility as an artist and as a mother."
