NEW DELHI, April 13: Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday that death toll following COVID-19 has climbed to 331 lives so far while the people infected by the deadly virus rose to 9240.

The ministry informed in its morning update today that the death toll rose to 331 people with 35 fresh deaths reported from different parts of India while there are a total of 9240 infections with 796 fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Out of the confirmed cases, 857 people recovered and were discharged from the hospitals while the pandemic spread to 31 Indian states.
Maharashtra is considered the worst affected state as the death toll rose to 149 while total infected people are standing at 1985 followed by capital New Delhi with 24 deaths and 1154 positive cases.
The Indian authorities are discussing future course of action as a nation-wide lock down imposed for 21 days is ending tomorrow and the deaths and infections due to coronavirus attack are still on rise
