92 rain-related incidents tackled by the Fire Directorate

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16, (Agencies): The General Fire Force reported that its teams addressed 92 incidents yesterday evening amid the rainy conditions across several regions of the country, with no reported injuries.

In a press statement to the Public Relations and Media Department today, the Fire Department stated, “The incidents comprised 33 cases of water extraction from basements due to excessive rainwater, along with 52 instances of towing vehicles stranded on flooded roads and rescuing individuals trapped within them in various regions.” Additionally, two reports of vehicle breakdowns and tent sinking on Failaka Island were resolved, with the rescue of 5 individuals. Furthermore, the teams handled 5 reports of ground cable fires, emphasizing that “no injuries were reported.”

The Fire Department urged citizens and residents to stay indoors during rainfall unless absolutely necessary and encouraged them to promptly dial the emergency phone number 112 when in need of assistance.
