KUWAIT CITY, July 5: A Kuwaiti citizen was swindled for KD 8,400 by a scammer who called him saying that his bank card had been blocked and he should update his data and contact. A Kuwaiti citizen in his 50's filed a complaint with a police station saying he received a message that his bank card was blocked and he had to contact the local phone number. As soon as he called the number it asked for data from his bank card including the password.

The citizen was surprised after receiving a number of messages from the bank that his cash was withdrawn. The case has been transferred to the competent authorities dealing with cybercrime. Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates are being cautioned not to respond to these type of messages
