KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi inaugurated the Jaber Al-Ahmad Kidney Dialysis Center in Ahmadi Governorate, a donation from the family of HH the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Al-Awadhi affirmed that the opening of the center is part of the mission of the ministry to expand medical services in health districts and bring these services closer to the citizens by offering them in their residential areas. He revealed that this is the largest kidney dialysis center in Ahmadi, indicating that it includes 83 dialysis units with a total capacity of more than 600 patients if fully operational. He added the center has five floors covering an area of more than 10,000 square meters and it was constructed according to the latest medical and engineering standards.
He said the center provides a range of services like pharmacy, laboratory, emergency rooms, dialysis units, administrative and technical. He disclosed that this is the second donation of the family of HH the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in terms of the establishment of a kidney dialysis center, stating that the previous donation was a similar center in Jahra Governorate. He expressed his gratitude to the family of HH the late Amir for this generous donation, and to all those involved in establishing and managing the center.

Meanwhile, Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad asserted that Kuwait is proud of the opening of the Jaber Al-Ahmad Kidney Dialysis Center. He said it is one of the largest centers in the governorate and it is a significant addition to the healthcare system of the country. He said the center will reduce waiting times for patients and improve the quality of healthcare services. He reiterated that is this the second such center, following the Jaber Al-Ahmad Kidney Dialysis Center in Jahra Governorate.
He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the family of HH the late Amir for their generous donation. He also expressed his gratitude to Al-Awadhi, the ministry, all medical, engineering and technical staff, and all entities that contributed to the completion of the center. Representative of the donor, Sheikh Fahad Al-Jaber – one of the heirs of HH the late Amir, stressed that serving patients is a religious and humanitarian duty with the aim of alleviating their suffering and instilling hope in them. Sheikh Fahad Al-Jaber indicated that the Kuwaiti people are inherently generous and charitable, recalling the humanitarian stances of HH the late Amir, may Allah have mercy on him.
Present at the opening ceremony were Head of the Crown Prince Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Al-Jaber, Undersecretary of the ministry Sheikh Thamer Al-Jaber, Sheikh Dr. Suleiman Khalifa Al-Sabah, and the children of HH the late Amir. The dialysis center measures 2,650 square meters, with a total building area of 10,250 square meters. It consists of a basement, ground floor and three upper floors, providing integrated therapeutic, diagnostic, nursing, administrative and support services. The center has 83 dialysis units, 11 isolation rooms, four peritoneal dialysis rooms, a biochemistry laboratory, and rooms for blood collection, treatment procedures, emergencies, patient examination and preparation, central pharmacy, nutrition and social service clinics, administrative facilities and support services.
