KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: Upon instructions of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, 100 applicants have been chosen to join the General Fire Force courses who made the ‘reserve’ list chosen and drawn at random via the lottery system. This brings the number of accepted applicants to 661, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Daily added, the number of those accepted in all courses rose to 822, after the 161 applicants were directly accepted after the number of applicants did not meet the required number.

The draw was held at the Kazma Club hall in the Adailiya area, in the presence of the Chief of the Fire Force, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Mukrad, senior officers from the fire force, and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Transparency Society, Dr. Fahd Al-Raqeeb. The Director of Public Relations and Media at the General Fire Force, Muhammad Al-Gharib, indicated in a statement to Al-Rai that “immediate admission was approved for a number of specializations, because there were no sufficient number of applicants for each course such as the Prevention Inspector Sergeant course, in which 94 applicants were accepted, and the Relations Sergeant course (General, media and photography) 24 applicants were accepted, and a Security and Safety Sergeant Course for which 43 were accepted,” pointing out that acceptance is not considered final until after passing the medical examination.
