82.5% Expats high-schoolers

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12: Official data revealed that 1.22 million expatriates hold general secondary qualifications (high school or lower) — 82.5% of the total number of expatriates in the local labor market or 1.479 million individuals, reports Al-Anba daily. The number of expatriates working in Kuwait who hold a high school diploma and its equivalent reached 335,280; those who hold an intermediate certificate reached 739,500; those with primary certificates reached 139,270 while 7,503 can read and write, and 286 are illiterate.
Among these expatriates 17,500 work in the government sector including 7,338 who hold a high school diploma or its equivalent; 4,384 hold an intermediate certificate; 650 hold an elementary certificate; 4,907 can read and write, and 286 are illiterate; while the rest are working in the private sector.
